Zanzibar is world-renowned for its untouched beaches. We recommend a visit to the Nungwi Beach, known for its soft, white sandy beaches. For long stretched beaches consider the East Coast beaches such as Paje, Matemwe, Jambiani and Kiwengwa. Note that some beaches, especially along the East Coast are coral beaches with lagoons having a harder floor.

The official local currency is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS); however, the US Dollar (US$) is widely accepted.
